After several years of delays, the Del Obispo Senior Center Annex project will finally get underway today with a first meeting between city engineers and E.M.S. Construction. The firm was awarded a $355,000 construction contract several months ago to build an 1,880-square-foot addition to the existing Community Center. In 1997, City Council members delayed the project because of the close proximity of San Juan Capistrano’s proposed senior center and other city projects that were competing for the same funds.
