Win Moves Ice Dogs Back Into First Place

The Long Beach Ice Dogs scored three goals in the first period and held off the Las Vegas Thunder, 4-2, Wednesday night in an International Hockey League game before 5,252 in Las Vegas.
The victory moved the Ice Dogs (24-9-0) into first place in the Western Conference’s Southwest Division over idle Houston.
Long Beach added a goal in the second period and then held on against Las Vegas (8-19-3), the last-place team in the division.
The Ice Dogs play at home against Utah Saturday and Sunday.
