In the Sunday Travel section (“Trips for People With Disabilities,” The Healthy Traveler, Jan. 4), organizations for travelers with disabilities were listed. “New Directions” is such a local group out of Santa Barbara. It has been in existence 12 years. My 31-year-old developmentally disabled son has been a traveler with them for seven years, going on such outings as bicycle tours as far as British Columbia; skiing in Mammoth; and visiting Las Vegas and Orlando and this past summer, Maui.
