Three Oxnard residents were arrested, two on suspicion of auto theft, after their car got a flat tire in Somis, authorities said Friday.
Gregory Martinez, 26, and Daniella Bucci, 20, were booked into County Jail on suspicion of auto theft and are being held in lieu of $10,000 bail. Martinez also was booked on suspicion of possession of stolen property.
Lisa Taitai, 19, was booked on suspicion of violating the terms of her probation and is being held in lieu of $500 bail, a jail spokeswoman said.
Sheriff’s Deputies Jody Keller and Dennis Reed were on patrol about 9:20 p.m. Thursday when they came upon the three as they were changing a tire just off Dodson Street not far from California 118, authorities said.
Keller said Reed noticed that the 1983 El Camino had different front and rear license plates. A check revealed that the El Camino recently was reported stolen in Oxnard, Keller said.
When searching the suspects and the car, the deputies said, they found stolen checks and credit cards on Martinez. In addition, they discovered auto-burglary tools, Keller said.
