Virginia P. Vega; Lifetime County Resident

Virginia P. Vega, a Santa Paula resident who had a 50-year career with the Santa Paula Orange Assn., died Wednesday after a brief illness. She was 74.
Born Oct. 7, 1923, in Santa Paula to Jesus and Julia Perez, Vega lived in Ventura County her entire life. She was known for dedicated work with the Orange Assn.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Carlos Vega; two daughters, Linda Carrillo of Santa Paula and Roma Diaz of Ventura; one son, Anthony of San Francisco; four brothers, Frank and Ted Perez of San Jose and Paul and Fermin Perez of Santa Paula; four sisters, Modesta Lopez and Pat Hernandez of San Jose, Susie Castro of Santa Paula and Mary Lou Magallanes of Arleta; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces and godchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Monday at Pierce Brothers Stetler Mortuary, 128 S. 8th St., in Santa Paula. A wake will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the Latin American Assembly of God Church, 412 N. 12th St., in Santa Paula.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Santa Paula Cemetery. Pierce Brothers Stetler Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
