No contest! A Canadian-owned mining company wants to mine for gold on a Native American tribe’s sacred grounds in California (Feb. 9). Are we nuts to even be discussing this? Tell the Canadians to go home and dig up their public lands for gold.
It seems to me that [project general manager] Steve Baumann’s claim that the Indians are being absolutist seems to be the pot calling the kettle black. Glamis Imperial Corp. wants one thing and one thing only and it will do whatever it can to get to the gold that lies under the ground. Tough!
