THAT TEARS IT

Jerry Crowe’s Pop Eye item about Natalie Imbruglia’s hit “Torn” (Feb. 15) mentions that the song was “originally recorded” by the L.A. band Ednaswap, but neglects to specify that it was co-written (with Phil Thornalley) by Ednaswap members Anne Preven and Scott Cutler.
These gifted songwriters deserve all the credit, in my opinion, for the success of “Torn.”

The item should have credited Phil Thornalley as producer of Imbruglia’s version of “Torn.”
