Riccio’s 40 Points Not Enough

Joey Riccio made 15 of 18 field-goal attempts and finished with a season-high 40 points, but the Santa Paula High boys’ basketball team fell to Cabrillo, 86-77, in a Southern Section Division III-A quarterfinal playoff game Wednesday night at Lompoc High.

David Herrera, who made five of seven three-point attempts, had 21 points for Santa Paula (21-6), the fourth-seeded team. Cabrillo is 14-12.
