* Long Beach Wilson vs. Newport Harbor, Corona del Mar HS, 5:30 today: Top-seeded Wilson (26-0) is the favorite to win the first Southern Section girls’ water polo Division I title, but first it has to get past gritty Newport Harbor (20-7). Sophomore Kyndra Cox has been on a hot streak for Newport Harbor, which plays today in the first half of a Division I semifinal doubleheader.
* Irvine vs. Marina, Corona del Mar HS, 7:15 tonight: Irvine (20-7) beat third-seeded Capistrano Valley, 9-8, in the quarterfinals Tuesday. On Jan. 23, Marina defeated Irvine, 4-2, holding the Vaqueros to two goals by Erin Lezak. Jenny Lamb, Rebecca Miller and goalie Candice Chick lead second-seeded Marina (22-5). The finals are Monday at Belmont Plaza.
* Santa Monica vs. Rosary, Independence Park, 3:15 today: Julia Wald and top-seeded Rosary (22-7) continue to march toward the Division III final, meeting Santa Monica, which trounced fourth-seeded Whittier La Serna, 15-5, Tuesday. The winner of this semifinal plays the University-Palos Verdes Peninsula winner in the final Monday at Belmont Plaza.
