OUTBACK BOWL

Site: Tampa, Fla.
Series history: First meeting.
Bowl records: Georgia 15-14-3, Wisconsin 4-5.
How teams got there: In his second season in Athens, Georgia Coach Jim Donnan has rebuilt the Bulldogs around a passing game that was shut down only by Tennessee in a 38-13 loss. Georgia was a contender for the SEC East title until losing a 45-34 shootout against Auburn. Wisconsin was 3-0 in the Big Ten before running into a hot Purdue team, losing, 45-20. The Badgers lost three of their last five games.
The game: The Badgers have built their attack around sophomore running back Ron Dayne, a 5-foot-10, 261-pound bruiser who ran for 1,463 yards and 15 touchdowns in 249 carries, but missed two games and part of two others because of injuries. Dayne will deal with a Georgia defense that gave up only 169.9 rushing yards a game. The Bulldogs throw, then throw some more. Quarterback Mike Bobo came into his own as the leader of a passing attack that accounted for 262.7 yards a game. He can pick on a porous Wisconsin secondary that gave up 2,562 passing yards. The Bulldogs score a lot of points, and have the ability to come back, if need be. If they can hold Dayne to 100 yards or fewer, they should have no trouble.
