Professional golfer Amy S. Alcott has donated $50,000 to enhance neonatal care at UCLA Children’s Hospital, officials said.
The endowment will be used to renovate the pediatric facilities at the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit, with the goal of creating a more comfortable environment for infants and their families, said Simi Singer, spokeswoman for the hospital.
The money will also help fund child development specialists who provide support services to families and their sick infants.
The 13-bed neonatal intensive care unit serves about 400 children a year, Singer said. It and the children’s hospital are within UCLA Medical Center.
