FOOTHILL RANCH — Sunglasses maker Oakley Inc. said Monday that Jon Krause was promoted to the new position of vice president of operations, giving him responsibility for several technology-related functions. Krause, 34, will manage Oakley’s inventory, facilities, security and international operations.
He joined the company in November 1996 as director of information technology, and helped develop an inventory management system with Oakley’s largest customer, Florida-based Sunglass Hut. An oversupply of Oakley glasses at Sunglass Hut in the fall of 1996 caused Oakley’s stock to plunge and resulted in several shareholder lawsuits.
Before joining Oakley, Krause was a senior manager with Andersen Consulting, where he specialized in information technology and manufacturing.
