Repairs May Uproot Summer Classes

Summer classes at Urbain H. Plavan and Isojiro Oka elementary schools will probably be moved to other campuses this year to make way for roofing repairs.
Plavan and Oka usually host the Fountain Valley School District’s summer sessions. This year there are tentative plans to move the classes to Roch Courreges Elementary and Kazuo Masuda Middle School, Supt. Marc Ecker said.
Concerns about safety and space during the roofing project prompted the decision to move the classes. “I can’t put on a new roof and do summer school,” Ecker said.
District trustees are expected to approve the plan Thursday.
