Yeltsin Postpones Two Engagements

Laid low earlier this winter with a bad cold, President Boris N. Yeltsin cut back his workload by postponing a trip to India and a summit of regional leaders, both planned for later this month. The Commonwealth of Independent States meeting was reportedly put off at the request of Ukraine. Yeltsin, who is on vacation, has a history of heart trouble, and the schedule changes once again raised questions about his health. The Kremlin, apparently hoping to head off any concerns, said the 66-year-old president was ice fishing and snowmobiling.
