Prayer Vigil Planned for Typhoon Victims

A prayer vigil is being held Saturday for the thousands of victims of Typhoon Linda in Vietnam.
The storm, one of the worst natural disasters in Southeast Asia in a century, left 3,700 people dead and tens of thousands homeless when it hit the southern coast of Vietnam in November.
The vigil is being sponsored by two dozen local youth groups that also banded together in planning to raise funds for victims at a Jan. 18 walk-a-thon. The vigil begins at 8:30 p.m. at 9081 Bolsa Ave., Suite 101, and will run until midnight. For more information, call (714) 901-6823.
