A search continued Thursday for a developmentally disabled 19-year-old man who wandered away from a residential care facility in the Crenshaw district.
Edmund Walters, who was last seen Tuesday at 43rd Street and Crenshaw Boulevard, has a history of wandering off, said his case manager, Terry McVerry. Walters, who is watched closely at a state-run boarding home, escaped through a bathroom window, McVerry said.
Walters is African American, 6 feet tall, weighs 170 pounds and has brown eyes, close-cut black hair and a missing front tooth. He is known to frequent the beaches of Santa Monica, Venice and Malibu, and likes to ride buses and walk the streets, McVerry said.
