College Trustees to Interview Candidates
Five candidates vying for a vacant seat on the Rancho Santiago Community College District Board of Trustees will be interviewed in public Monday.
The vacancy was created last month when Charles W. “Pete” Maddox resigned. He had to step down because he no longer lives in Area 2, which he represented.
Rather than hold a special election to fill his seat, trustees will appoint Maddox’s replacement.
The candidates are Jose J. Solorio of Santa Ana, J. Carolan Smyth III of Orange, John R. Hanna of Santa Ana, Ivan V. McKinney of Santa Ana and Linda T. Sanchez of Santa Ana.
The interviews will begin at 5 p.m. at the district office board room at Santa Ana College, 1530 W. 17th St.
