Synagogue Fires
Your Dec. 30 issue featured an article about arson at two synagogues in the Fairfax area.
All of us decry senseless acts of violence, regardless of their target. We were, though, deeply disturbed that the article gave such prominence to the absurd hypothesis that the arson resulted from disunity within the Los Angeles Jewish community. The story tried to create a presumption that where disunity exists, it could escalate to this type of criminal activity.
