Boy Without Seat Belt Dies After Crash

IRVINE — A 4-year-old Irvine boy who was not wearing a seat belt died Saturday afternoon from injuries suffered in a low-speed collision, police said.
The boy, whose name was not released, was in the front seat of the van his mother was driving Friday evening when it rear-ended a vehicle at Paseo Westpark and Barranca Parkway, police said.
The mother, 26-year-old Cecilia Chung, suffered minor injuries, as did the other driver, police said.
The accident is under investigation.
