White’s Foot Injured Again

After sweeping the Oregon schools over the weekend, a more confident USC was looking forward to having all its players healthy for games against Stanford and California this week. But senior forward Anthony White, who broke his foot in October and sat out the first nine games, re-injured the foot against Oregon State on Saturday.
Doctors said White, averaging 6.5 points and 5 rebounds, suffered only a bruise. It’s unknown whether he will be ready to play against Stanford on Thursday.
Junior guard Elias Ayuso, one of the team’s best outside shooters, is not on the injured list but has been struggling because of an ankle injury.
Ayuso scored a season-high 20 points against Arizona last week but was scoreless against the Oregon schools. He played only three minutes against Oregon State, four against Oregon.
“I miss him because he’s another shooter on the other side of the perimeter that defenses have to key on,” said junior forward Adam Spanich, USC’s other three-point shooting threat.
