Friedman on IMF
David Friedman’s article on the International Monetary Fund (Opinion, Jan. 4) sounded reasonable until he quoted the Heritage Foundation--a right-wing lobbying group. The Heritage Foundation has long looked for liberal conspiracies behind international organizations such as the IMF and the U.N. and is hardly qualified to be expert on international finance.
P.T. Barnum once said that “there’s a sucker born every minute.” Apparently Friedman--by quoting fringe experts and concluding with thinly disguised international conspiracy theories--takes his readers to be suckers.
