Wright Must Deal With Another Injury

Clipper forward Lorenzen Wright, who missed four consecutive games with strained ligaments in his left knee, didn’t dress for Monday night’s 110-95 loss to the Bucks in Milwaukee because of an ankle injury suffered Sunday against the Detroit Pistons.
“Maybe I came back too soon,” Wright said. “I think I should have practiced before I came back.
“I’ve never been injured before and I thought I could just come back right away and go straight to playing.”
Wright, who sprained his right ankle in the first minute of the 113-85 loss to Detroit in Auburn Hills, Mich., watched Monday night’s game from the locker room, riding an exercise bicycle.
“My ankle was swollen and I thought it would be best if I tried to get my body back together before I came back,” Wright said. “If I’m going to come back and play like I did last night, I’d rather get my body back together.”
Wright, who had averaged 16.4 points in eight games before spraining ligaments in his left knee in a 94-79 victory over the Golden State Warriors at Oakland on Jan. 2, had four points and two rebounds in 26 minutes against the Pistons.

Former Clipper guard Randy Woods, playing for the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the CBA, received a 10-game suspension for hitting former Vancouver Grizzlie swingman Ashraf Amaya in the groin.
Victor Page, who came to Wood’s defense and attacked Amaya with a broom, was suspended for 18 games.
