4 Students Honored in Design Contest

Four young artists have garnered first-place honors in the 1998 Youth Expo design contest, sponsored by the Orange County Fair & Exposition Center.
The works of Jefferson King, 18, of Laguna Hills; Kathleen Winslow, 12, of Fountain Valley; Eric Gallup, 5, of Garden Grove and Sarah Chappell, 3, of Laguna Beach, were selected from about 800 entries as winners of the high school, junior high, elementary and preschool categories, respectively.
The theme of the design contest was Orange County’s Class Act: Coastlines, Kites and Starry Nights.
The 19th Annual Youth Expo will be April 17, 18 and 19 at the Orange County Fairgrounds.
