Trio Forms Quite a Tribe

It’s just a coincidence, they insist, but when girls’ basketball players Shannon Spielbuehler, Amy Lowe and Amy Feola transferred from Village Christian after last season, they developed one unique, common bond.
They all became Indians.
“We never discussed it or anything,” said Lowe, a sophomore guard for the Alemany Indians.
Said Spielbuehler, now a junior shooting guard for the Hart Indians: “I never gave it any kind of thought, but it is a pretty funny coincidence.”
Feola became a Burroughs Indian.
The trio helped Village Christian capture its fifth consecutive Alpha League title and extend its league winning streak to a region-best 56 games last season.
They may now be at different schools, but their schedules have allowed them to keep in touch.
Spielbuehler and Lowe already have faced each other in a Buena tournament game, won by Hart. Spielbuehler and Hart also will meet Feola and Burroughs twice in Foothill League play, including Friday night at Burroughs.
