* NEW MEXICO STATE (11-5, 1-1) at LONG BEACH STATE (5-9, 0-2), 9, ESPN--The enigmatic Aggies come to town tonight, led by Louis Richardson, a 6-foot-8 forward who averages 18.1 points and 8.3 rebounds. He has the size and strength to exploit one of Long Beach’s primary weaknesses: lack of aggressiveness by its front-line players. New Mexico State beat Ohio State and Virginia in holiday tournaments, but lost to UC Irvine, 62-55, in Las Cruces on Saturday in Big West Conference play. The Aggies also have guard Denmark Reid, averaging 17.6 points a game, and $1-a-month interim Coach Lou Henson, who had retired to New Mexico after 21 seasons at Illinois, only to find his alma mater coach-less on Oct. 16 after allegations of NCAA violations.
