A Carlsbad man was one of two stock promoters who pleaded guilty to fraud in cases stemming from an FBI probe of stockbrokers who allegedly were bribed to sell overvalued stocks to customers. Theodore Heitzman, 51, along with Leonard Ruge of Florida, admitted that they tried to bribe undercover agents posing as crooked stockbrokers. . . . La Jolla-based Lidak Pharmaceuticals, which has been seeking a marketing partner for its new herpes drug, received a financing offer of $80 million to $130 million from Santa Monica-based HealthMed Inc. to help distribute and sell the treatment. . . . Bacou USA Inc. will acquire closely held Howard Leight Industries of San Diego for $120 million in cash to add devices such as earplugs to its line of eye-protection and other safety products.
