Sanchez and Gephardt to Join School Forum
- Share via
One of the most densely populated school districts in Orange County will host a public forum today with U.S. Rep. Loretta Sanchez on school overcrowding.
The forum at Loara Elementary School will begin at 10 a.m. and include testimony from a student, a parent, a teacher and school construction experts. Sanchez, a Democrat from Garden Grove, will be joined by House Minority Leader Richard Gephardt (D-Mo.). There will also be time for public comment.
Loara Elementary School, at 1601 W. Broadway, is in the 20,000-student Anaheim City School District. All of the district’s 22 schools are on a year-round schedule because of a severe classroom shortage. The district is putting Measure Y up for a vote April 14 in an attempt to raise money on the bond market for construction.
