The city has joined the Vons supermarket chain to offer a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of four robbers in the shooting of two store employees during a botched holdup last week.
La Verne Police Capt. Chuck Montoya said the department hopes the reward will lead someone to come forward and help convict the gunman and his accomplices.
During the Jan. 15 robbery, assistant store manager Jorge Espinoza, 38, was shot several times. He is recovering at Pomona Valley Medical Center, officials said. Clerk Joe Martinez is recovering at St. Francis hospital in Lynwood, where he was airlifted after being shot in the back.
La Verne Police have released computer-generated composites of two of the robbers.
