Curbside Addresses to Get Fresh Paint

Residents in the coming months will start seeing fresh paint on their curbside address numbers.
Residential Addressing Service, a Downey-based contractor, will paint the numbers throughout the city under a permit recently granted by the City Council.
The company can solicit a $10 voluntary payment for the service, after the work is completed. Payment will be requested from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
Address numbers are painted on curbs every two years; the city provides the paint and stencil to ensure uniformity, said Mark Christoffels, director of public works and city engineer.
Christoffels said the company has painted the addresses the past four years without complaints from residents.
The company will be distributing fliers about the program throughout neighborhoods.
