Huntington Man Accused of Threatening Sanchez

GARDEN GROVE — A Huntington Beach man has been accused of threatening Rep. Loretta Sanchez, with references to the Oklahoma City bombing.
On Jan. 19, Roger Duncan McAlister, 41, telephoned the office of the Garden Grove Democrat saying the government was conspiring against him and his friends and “sending electronic messages to him over low-band airwaves,” Garden Grove police said.
When Sanchez staffers tried to refer him to his proper congressional district, police said McAlister threatened the government in general and Sanchez in particular by referring to Timothy McVeigh and his bombing of the federal building in Oklahoma City.
The receptionist called Garden Grove police, who found McAlister on Tuesday at a business where he was working temporarily. They arrested him on suspicion of threatening a public official and making terrorist threats. He was booked into the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
