Mark Van Slyke; Industrial Psychology Expert

Mark D. Van Slyke, 61, expert on industrial psychology and aerospace operations management. A consultant to the U.S. government, Van Slyke conducted management seminars at USC and 62 other centers in the United States, the Far East and Germany. Born in Charles City, Iowa, he served in the Air Force and earned degrees in industrial psychology from Iowa State and Purdue universities. Van Slyke joined the faculty of USC’s Institute of Safety and Systems Management in 1966 and became chairman of its human factors department in 1979. He retired in 1995. On Saturday in Newport Beach of injuries in an automobile accident.
