FULLERTON — Eric J. Boden, president and chief executive of Fullerton-based Frame-n-Lens, resigned his posts at the 289-store optical retailer to pursue other interests. Boden’s departure came after the company’s founders, Robert and Marie-Clarie Valtz of France, decided to resume day-to-day management of the company.
Under Boden, Frame-n-Lens grew into the 11th-largest optical retailer in the U.S., thanks in part to the 1994 acquisition of Family Vision Centers. Before Frame-n-Lens, Boden spent 21 years at Dayton-Hudson Corp.’s Target and B. Dalton Books divisions.
Boden, 49, of Corona del Mar, said he is eyeing several CEO opportunities and is considering buying a business.
