Cleveland Indian first baseman Jim Thome was hit on the right forearm by a pitch from the New York Yankees’ Andy Pettitte on Tuesday night and had to leave the game.
It was the latest in a series of beanings between the playoff enemies since spring training. Thome went to the hospital for precautionary X-rays.
