Fugitive Apparently Shoots Self to Death

A fugitive authorities had wanted to question in the shooting deaths of three men in the rugged Appalachian foothills apparently shot himself to death, authorities said. Ronnie J. Sparks was thought to have been hiding for months in a cave in Olive Hill. Carter County Deputy Coroner Ernie Holbrook said Sparks, 40, was found dead with a shotgun wound in the chest. Three men were found dead Sunday about 85 miles east of Lexington.
