Orange County high schools selected for recognition by the U.S. Department of Education in the Blue Ribbon Schools Program for the 1997-98 school year:
* Corona del Mar High
* Dana Hills High
* Los Alamitos High
* Santa Margarita High
They were judged on student focus and support; school organization and culture; challenging standards and curriculum; active teaching and learning; professional community; leadership and educational vitality; school, family and community partnerships; and indicators of success.
