Teen’s Mother’s Death Outlined

After testimony about his mother’s gruesome death, the prosecution closed its case against Luke Woodham, 17, who is accused of fatally stabbing her before killing two Pearl High School classmates. Pathologist Steven Hayne testified that Mary Woodham, 50, suffered 11 slashes to her arms as she tried to ward off a knife attack. She had seven stab wounds, including three to the chest. Woodham is on trial in the town of Philadelphia for his mother’s death Oct. 1. He still faces trial in Hattiesburg in the shooting deaths of the two students and wounding of seven others.
