Infant in Critical Condition After Falling 3 Stories

An infant was hospitalized in critical condition with severe head injuries Monday after he toppled out of a third-story apartment window in the Westlake district, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
Department spokesman Bob Collis said there were adults in the apartment when the 21-month-old boy fell. A screen on the window had been pushed aside, Collis said. The child and his parents were not identified.
