Ineligible Player Means Colorado’s Record Is 0-11

BOULDER, Colo. — Colorado has forfeited all five of its football victories in 1997 after acknowledging an ineligible player participated in games.
Although it was fullback-linebacker Darren Fisk’s fourth year of competition, it was his sixth year of college enrollment, which violated NCAA rules.
Students get five years to play four seasons.
Colorado Athletic Director Richard Tharp said Fisk participated because of an error in record-keeping in the registrar’s office. Fisk had enrolled at Colorado in 1992, and played one game at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1993 before transferring back to Colorado. He said he believed he had a medical hardship waiver for ’93.
Colorado’s record fell from 5-6 to 0-11.
