Thirty-three teachers from elementary and junior high schools throughout the district have been awarded $10,000 in grants to use in educational programs and field trips.
The newly formed Fullerton School District Educational Foundation chose the grant winners.
Some of the projects include: a quilting project that integrates math; a field trip to the Los Angeles Zoo; poetry in the classroom; a video yearbook; a tour of the Cyber Science Museum; storytelling activities; field trips to the Los Angeles harbor, the Museum of Tolerance, a church and a Buddhist temple; and computer equipment for a class newsletter.
The foundation is soliciting donations for future grants. To contribute, call (714) 447-7466 or mail donations to the Foundation, P.O. Box 5317, Fullerton CA 92835.
