Child Protection Volunteers Honored

The Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center recently honored several individuals and organizations that officials said helped contribute to stopping violence.
Honorees include special award winner Laird Doorly of Costa Mesa, volunteer of the year Leticia Macias of Laguna Beach, social worker Carol LaBounty of Orange, intern Sharon Landis, new volunteer Maria Carrillo of Garden Grove, volunteer couple Laura and Michael Larsen of Cypress, Welcome Baby program volunteer Mary Davey of Mission Viejo, Tender Care Parenting Program volunteer Lynn McLoud of Irvine and Welcome Baby Teen Mother volunteer Ariana Favela of Santa Ana.
The center identifies families at risk for child abuse and sends volunteers to work with parents.
