Volunteers Sought for Arthritis Fund-Raiser

The Arthritis Foundation is looking for volunteers to help out in its fourth annual Mini Grand Prix Charity car races.
Several meets will feature 19 entrants racing 3 1/2-horsepower Indy-style race cars through a quarter-mile street course. The races begin at 11 a.m. March 28 at Katella Avenue and Valley View Street.
Organizers expect 10,000 people to attend the races and other events, including a health fair, children’s rides, a petting zoo and other displays.
But volunteers are still needed to set up and break down the events and assist in several family events, said Suzanne Hoehl, executive director of the Orange County Arthritis Foundation, which, along with the Long Beach branch of the foundation, is sponsoring the event.
“This event helps us raise funds but also significantly increases awareness about our organization to those who attend,” she said.
