The American Diabetes Assn. is looking for bicycle riders for its seventh annual Tour de Cure to raise money for diabetes research.
Riders will compete in 25K, 50K and 100K rides May 16. Entry fees are $15 until April 10, then $20 until the day of the event.
Registration at the event costs $25. Riders also are asked to collect at least $75 in pledges.
Included in the entry fee is a free lunch at Chevy’s Mexican restaurant, 4700 Barranca Parkway, Irvine. That also is where the ride starts.
Check-in begins at 7 a.m. for 100K riders, 8 a.m. for 50K riders and 9 a.m. for 25K riders.
Proceeds from the ride will go to national research for a cure for diabetes, an illness that affects more than 16 million Americans.
