SANTA ANA — GT Bicycles Inc. said Wednesday that it has begun producing a half-hour television show on bicycling for the Fox Sports Network. “Crank,” which airs nationally on Mondays at 5 p.m., covers BMX and freestyle cycling and riders.
“We believe this is an ideal way to foster . . . enthusiasm for this type of riding and to reinforce GT’s leadership position in these categories,” said Michael Haynes, GT’s chief executive.
Company officials declined to say how much it costs to produce the show, except that it is “far less” than the typical $1,000 a minute, because GT’s in-house video department produces the show.
Fox Sports reaches about 57 million U.S. households each week.
