* Irvine at Santa Margarita, 3 p.m. Friday: The last time these schools met was last April, when Santa Margarita defeated Irvine, 9-4, to take a two-game lead over the Vaqueros with six games remaining in the 1997 Sea View League race. But the Eagles lost four of their remaining games, opening the door for Irvine, which clinched the title with two victories over El Toro in the final week. Each team won its league opener Friday in impressive fashion. Santa Margarita beat Corona del Mar, 7-0, and Irvine defeated El Toro, 8-1, on Devin Benter’s five-hitter. Irvine will start senior right-hander Chas Reid, with Benter starting in today’s makeup game against Corona del Mar.
