Old Hangar No. 1 at LAX is “fly” for another special reason (“Air Show,” by Jim Heimann, So SoCal, Feb. 1). It served as the entry point to Casablanca in the 1942 movie of the same name. When Capt. Rinault greets Maj. Strasser on his arrival in Casablanca and we hear about Rick’s Cafe Americain for the first time, the backdrop for that scene is Hangar No. 1.
Now we all have another reason to watch “Casablanca” again--as if we need an excuse.
