Ocean View Scores Twice in Seventh to Beat Tustin

Ocean View rallied to beat seventh-ranked Tustin, 4-2, in a Golden West League baseball game Saturday at Windrow Field in Irvine.
With the score tied, 2-2, Shawn White led off the seventh with a double for Ocean View (13-8, 10-2). John Clark singled to score White and moved to second on a single by Jason Miller. Jason Martini then followed with a run-scoring hit.
Martini (3-1) also did the job on the mound for the Seahawks, giving up two runs and seven hits in six innings for the victory.
In the Century League:
Villa Park 8, No. 4 Foothill 6-- Villa Park used three home runs to beat Foothill (17-4, 10-1).
The Spartans (8-13, 3-8) got home runs from Rob McConchie, Matt Swearingen and Brandon Averill.
In Sunset League baseball:
Fountain Valley 10, Edison 0 (6, mercy)--Danny Ellis (4-5) pitched a one-hitter for Fountain Valley (14-8, 7-4).
Casey Janssen hit his first two home runs of the season and drove in four runs for the Barons.
In the Baron softball classic:
Marina 2, No. 10 El Modena 1--Alicia Velasquez drove in the game-winner with a bases-loaded single in the top of the sixth for Marina (18-5) in the championship game.
In the semifinals, Steffany Stenglein’s RBI double in the fourth inning lifted Marina to a 1-0 victory over San Diego Scripps Ranch (11-5-1).
El Modena (18-4-1) advanced to the championship game by defeating Laguna Hills, 2-0, in the other semifinal. Erin Norton pitched a one-hitter.
In the third-place game:
Laguna Hills 5, San Diego Scripps Ranch 1--Katy Oliver had a two-run single in the fifth to lead Laguna Hills (14-7).
In the Thousand Oaks softball tournament:
No. 1 Mater Dei 4, Simi Valley 0--Mater Dei’s Tina Bollinger, who had a perfect game going with two outs in the seventh inning, gave up a bloop single to shallow center field in the semifinal victory.
The Monarchs (21-2) defeated Newhall Hart, 10-0, in six innings in the quarterfinals.
At the Manhattan Beach boys’ volleyball tournament:
Laguna Beach captures title--The Artists won three matches Saturday to win the tournament. The Artists defeated Newbury Park in the final, 15-17, 15-4, 15-12. They beat Los Angeles Loyola, 15-7, 15-6, in the semifinals and scored a 15-9, 15-7 victory over Santa Monica in the quarterfinals.
