Hart 10, Buena 8--Jenny Munroe (31-0) swept at No. 1 singles in leading the Indians (14-2) to a Division II victory at Hart.
Simi Valley 11, Arcadia 7--The Pioneers won eight of nine doubles sets, including a 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 sweep by No. 3 team Rebecca Hunau and Stella Chu (60-0), to win a first-round Division I match at Arcadia (16-2).
Harvard-Westlake 13, Burroughs 5--Stephanie Berg, the Wolverines’ No. 1 singles player, went 3-0 in a Division III victory at Studio City Golf and Tennis one day after winning the Mission League singles championship.
Burbank 12, Keppel 6--Georgette Wright and Veronica Irinco swept their singles sets and the Bulldogs won a first-round Division II playoff match at Keppel.
Westlake 16, Paso Robles 2--Nina Yaftali, Audra Vickey and Amy Corwin swept in singles and the Warriors (19-0) won a Division III first-round match at North Ranch Country Club.
BOYS’ WATER POLO
Glendale 10, Mira Costa 9--Alex Lim scored with 17 seconds left in a Division III first-round game to give the unseeded Dynamiters their first playoff victory in five years at Glendale.
Burroughs 12, South Pasadena 11--Kenny Livas scored for the Indians on the first play of sudden-death overtime in a Division III first-round game at Burroughs.
Jason Falitz scored three of his five goals in a four-goal fourth quarter to help Burroughs (19-8) force overtime.
Crescenta Valley 14, Whittier California 5--Justin Payne had six goals and Alex Dmitrevsky made 11 saves for the Falcons in a Division III victory at Crescenta Valley.
Harvard-Westlake 17, Santa Ana Valley 1--Jason Malinsky scored five goals and Joe Axlerad made 14 saves and the Wolverines, seeded No. 3, won a Division I first-round game at Harvard-Westlake.
La Canada 21, Arcadia 6--The Spartans began defense of their Division III title by scoring 10 goals in the first quarter of a first-round victory at La Canada.
Billy Bower scored three goals for La Canada (22-4).
