7:30 TONIGHT TRABUCO HILLS HIGH
With a victory, Trabuco Hills would clinch the league title and deny Mater Dei a share of its seventh consecutive championship in the Monarchs’ final season in the South Coast League. If the Mustangs are going to pull off the upset, they will need a big game from their bruising running back, Al Gandall, and a mistake-free game from option quarterback Brandon Heaney, who is averaging eight yards a carry. Mater Dei’s defense has been stingy against two of the county’s best offenses--beating sixth-ranked Irvine, 35-0, and 10th-ranked San Clemente, 28-14.
