Bonita Knocks Out Valencia

Chris Cappello rushed for two touchdowns to lead La Verne Bonita to a 21-14 victory over Valencia in a Southern Section Division IX playoff game Friday night at Bonita.
Donald Morris gave Valencia a 7-0 lead on a 26-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
But third-seeded Bonita (10-1) scored 21 consecutive points to take a 21-7 third-quarter lead, led by Cappello with two one-yard runs.
Giovanni Alvarez-Mena pulled Valencia to within a touchdown, 21-14, on a 44-yard touchdown pass from Jason Annis in the fourth quarter, but the Tigers failed to get closer.
Morris led Valencia with 121 yards in 14 carries.
Annis completed four of 11 passes for 98 yards and two interceptions.
Deandre Belin led Bonita with 121 yards in 21 carries.
Bonita will play Lakewood Mayfair in the next round.
