Flight Nausea Linked to Soap in Air-Conditioning

MINNEAPOLIS — Soap in the air-conditioning system apparently caused passengers aboard a Northwest Airlines flight to become dizzy and nauseated.
The flight Sunday from Charlotte, N.C., to the Twin Cities was diverted to Indianapolis when passengers complained of feeling sick.
Mechanics in Indianapolis found soap in a water cooling pack that is part of the DC-9’s air-conditioning system, Northwest spokesman Jim Faulkner said Monday.
